About the Geography Degree Program

On Campus

Getting a geography degree is about more than studying maps and terrains. At 体育菠菜大平台, students study the world’s human and physical components such as population patterns, political and economic systems, natural resources, and environmental issues. Students gain the skills to interpret and explain real-world events that occur between humans and the environment.

Geography closely intersects with environmental science, so students often take courses on naturally occurring hazards, weather and conservation principles, and interrelationships between humans, culture, and the world. In the lab, students have access to state-of-the-art technology with GIScience.

The geography degree program is also uniquely positioned to leave room to explore an unrelated minor or even a second major, preparing students for success with a diverse skillset. Graduates have gone on to equally diverse careers, from natural resource and wildlife management and ecology to urban planning, business, and health sciences.
