About the Music Business Degree Program

The Music Business degree prepares students for a career providing administrative, financial, marketing and production support in the music industry. The program is unique in its partnership between 体育菠菜大平台's Music department and Business division, offering both classical music instruction as well as courses in accounting, sales and management.

Music business is an important aspect of the music industry that involves sales, management, marketing, publishing, manufacturing, reporting, recording and producing. Because of this broad focus, the Music Business degree opens up a wide range of career pathways and sets graduates up for growth within the industry. 

Practical experience is an essential component of both music and business education, and program requirements include an internship. The internship affords students an opportunity to observe and work in the music industry under actual business conditions, ensuring they graduate with real work experience.

Students can expect music coursework to include music theory and harmony, performance, conducting, music history, arranging, music business, music technology, sound recording and reinforcement and advanced sound production. In the area of business, the courses include marketing, sales, accounting, management and software productivity.

The program is affiliated with the National Association of Music Merchants, the International Music Products Association.
